Farm City Committee Scholarship

Farm City Committee Scholarship

The Pike County Chamber of Commerce Farm City Committee will provide a new scholarship to a student who plans to enter a post secondary institution. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who is pursuing technical education or profession education at the associate, baccalaureate or higher level. The amount of the scholarship is $500.00. The recipient must be a Pike County resident and preference will be given to graduates of Pike County/Troy City schools, public and private.

Applicants must also provide transcript, and a statement of acceptance from the post-secondary institution the applicant plans to attend.

Scholarship applications are available at the Pike County Chamber of Commerce. Application deadline is March 13 at 3:30 p.m.

Pike County Chamber Leadership Scholarship

Guidelines for the Pike County Chamber Leadership Scholarship

1. Essay:
A. 500 Words Maximum
B. Must be typed or produced on a word processing
program. No handwritten essays will be considered.
2. Letters of recommendation from a former or present teacher,
principal, and a person knowledgeable of the character
of the individual and who is not related to the individual.
3. A resume that includes details of the extracurricular activities (i.e. has applicant been successful while participating in sports, clubs, band, work, vocational student organization, etc.-include any honors or awards received.)
4. ACT or SAT scores.
5. Grade point average indicated on an official high school transcript of 2.0 or better on a 3.0 scale for the last six semesters prior to submitting application. Submit a copy of your high school transcript.
6. If applicable: Grade point average indicated on an official college transcript of 2.0 or better on a 3.0 scale. Submit a copy of the college transcript.
7. Statement of acceptance from the graduate or post-secondary institution that applicant is planning to attend.

Applications are due by March 13. Pick them up in my office in February.
