Kids' Chance Scholarship

The Kids' Chance Scholarship Fund was established by the Workers' Compensation Section of the Alabama State Bar to provide scholarships for college and technical school to children who have had a parent killed or permanently and totally disabled in an on the job accident.
Applications are on line: http://www.alfinc.org/ . The deadline for applications with required documents must be received by May 1.

Linly Heflin

The Linly Heflin Scholarship Committee grants four year scholarships in the amount of $3000 per year to a limited number of Alabama women who have both significant economic need and a sound academic record. Applications can be downloaded at http://www.linlyheflin.org/.
Requirements:
1. Scholarships are restricted to four year Alabama, SACS accredited, colleges.
2. The minimum requirement for the ACT score is 23.
3. Alabama resident and U.S. citizen.
4. Financial need.
5. Academic proficiency

The complete application form and supporting documents must be mailed by January 15.
* NOTE that a former Pike Liberal Arts student was awarded this scholarship.

Criteria for HAA Scholarship

1. You must be either: a)HAA Member whose membership is current and has been in good standing for the past 6 consecutive months; or b) spouse or child(28 years or younger) of an HAA Member whose membership is current and has been in good standing for the past 6 consecutive months.
2. You must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative Grade Point Average at your current educational facility (high school or college) and you must be pursuing study in a health-related field .
You must be able to show you GPA to the Scholarship Committee by e-mailing, faxing or mailing current educational facility-generated documents.

University of Alabama

In - State Scholarship
Scholarship Offers
* Students who have a 27 ACT (English, math, social sciences, and natural science) and at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA will receive $1,500 per year or $6,000 over four years.
*Students who have a 28-29 ACT and at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA will receive $3,500 per year or $14,000 over four years.
* Students who have a 30-36 ACT and at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA will receive in-state tuition for four years.

Academic
*Students who have a 32-36 ACT and at least a 3.8 cumulative GPA will be considered for this scholarship package.
Students selected will receive the following:
*$8,500 per year for four years
*Value of tuition for four years
*Four years of on-campus housing at regular room rate
*Laptop computer

REMINDERS
*The application for admission and scholarships must be completed.
*December 15 is the postmark-priority deadline for scholarship consideration.
*The December ACT is the last test dates used for scholarship consideration.
